Giving Vinyl a Makeover
It's so hard to believe that it has been almost a year since the last time I posted on my blog. I had such high hopes of being able to take time to post once I returned to the workforce, however I can see that isn't going to happen.
However, today I've done something that I was so excited about and had to share. I'm only in the beginning stages but I'm amazed that this is working. There are many things that I've tried in my DIY life. Some turned out really well and others....not so much.
Here is where it started... We have this wonderful pontoon boat that we purchased new in 1999. This boat has brought so many hours of fun for our family over the last 15 years. Our boys were 5 & 6 years old when we bought it which is so hard to believe.
Not the best picture but you get the idea! Well, over time without a garage, the mold and mildew began to take it's toll on our beautiful boat. I tried everything to get the stain off with no luck. Here is what it looks like now. Just makes me want to cry.
This is after scrubbing and power washing everything. I went online and read what I could find about cleaning the vinyl seats but nothing seems to work. Then I came across something called vinyl paint. I've painted everything else you can imagine, why not vinyl?
So I ordered it and it sat for another year because it is an overwhelming job to me. Today I decided it was time to at least test it out. Tell me what you think?

I'm amazed how soft and flexible it bonded to the vinyl. Now granted, I have to do all of the off white vinyl but that's okay as long as it works. Mr. Creative is going to have to help me do the taping off since I don't have the patience.
I will do more reveal pictures when we are done. Hoping to finish up this weekend. Here is another before and after of a second test I did.

I wish all of you mothers out there a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow. I will be working on projects, but that's okay! Thank you for stopping by to check in on me from time to time!
