Painting While the Sun Shines!
Here in the Midwest, it has been gray and cloudy with snow or rain for what seems like a month. It was raining this morning but by noon the sun was out and it was 60 degrees!
I thought I better use my time outside wisely. Using my brute strength, I dragged this little table out to the garage. Good thing it's made of pine! I sanded and cleaned her up before deciding what color to paint.
The plan was to stain the top dark and paint the base off white. However, the previous owner must have spilled candle wax on the top. No amount of sanding could get it out of the bare wood. Of course I tried to stain it but it came out spotty.
Skipping on to the base while I figured out what to do with top and shelf, I decided on Heirloom White by Rustoleum for the base.
Mr. Creative said the stain that I tried looked black so why not just paint it black. So black it became quite quickly.
So my well built but ugly table that I bought on Craigslist for $40 turned into a sharp looking piece of furniture for our bedroom.
I will take better pictures once I finish the black with some wipe on poly and put her in our bedroom!
Have you been busy while a sneak peek of spring happened?
Remember to set your clocks forward tonight or you will miss most of church in the morning!!
