Bamboo Roman Shade
When I showed you my bathroom makeover reveal HERE, I commented that there were still a few things that I would like to do or change.
One of those things was to purchase a lined bamboo roman shade for the window that is above our jacuzzi bathtub.
Hanging the curtain panels up to the ceiling makes a much better look and gives the room more height. However, to me it looks a little bare in that area between the window and curtain rod.
Even though we live in the country, you never know when someone might be in the woods so we wanted something to cover the window for privacy!
Bamboo shades aren't cheap! We ended up getting this lined Levolor brand from Lowes for $85. Luckily, I had a gift card from work or we probably would have waited longer to get it. They cut it on site to the width we needed at 54" and it is 60" long.
My wonderful Mr. Creative hung it for me by measuring more than once to make sure it is level and even. Dimensions aren't my thing so I'm always grateful that he can do this stuff for me. I guaranty that I would end up with two or more extra holes!
To me it just finishes off the window. I love it! It pulls in the various colors of brown in the room with the wood and fixtures.
Here is a picture with the blind open. If it wasn't night time, you would see a view of the bluff going up into our woods. In the summer it is covered with honeysuckle! What a wonderful smell right outside our master bedroom and bath... Sorry, I was dreaming of summer!
A wide shot gives the actual size of the area. Funny the difference in picture colors. The one above better shows the actual colors.
Before I said there were a few things I wanted to update or change. This angle shows one of those things that I tackled over the weekend when the weather was nice. I'm sure you can figure it out if you saw the previous pictures of my bathroom reveal, but I'll save that for another post!
The platform area at the end of the bathtub is screaming for a small bookcase or cabinet to store items and pretties! I'm on the watch for one but with a $50 or less budget, I'm not finding much. Wish I could just get Mr. Creative to make me one but that could end up costing more!
Thank you for your encouraging words on Sunday. It seems that those family and friends that had a great decrease in their check also had extreme health insurance increases on top of the additional social security tax. Thankfully, our insurance didn't increase so our checks were only reduced by the 2% FICA. Goes to show that worry does no good which is why God wants us to trust and lean on Him. Glad I eventually handed it over to Him!
